Self-Install Deployment
Customers of the Virtual Office service typically opt for a self-install deployment, where iPass still delivers its best-in-class project management, provisioning, configuration and logistical coordination. Users receive clear, concise instructions along with their preconfigured router that simply needs to be plugged in.
iPass also offers a self-install option for Retail and Branch Office, but recommends the professional installation process be managed by iPass for consistent and managed deployment results, as these sites are being connected directly to the corporate network.
Proactive Monitoring
For Retail and Branch Office services, iPass tests availability of your site-to-site VPN every three minutes, and runs round-trip latency and packet loss. Polling intervals are randomized across the network to minimize network congestion.
Security Monitoring
iPass also performs security monitoring of the VPN and the managed firewall for Retail and Branch Office services, and performs regular intrusion-prevention testing.
